Lets face it losing unwanted weight aka fat is not easy in todays world of not enough time and too many unhealthy options to chose from. So I want to talk about planning, because proper planning can make the difference between loosing and keeping the fat off or not even losing anything to begin with.

I want to talk about the nutrition aspect of the program because from what I’ve seen this seems to be what is tripping a lot of people up. I have clients who have tremendous work ethic and don’t miss workouts and yet are not achieving the results they should be.

Now I am going to tell you what you need to do. I know a lot of people don’t like the word need or you must but hey I am not here to gain people’s approval . My job is to make sure you achieve your fitness goals. So if you are really serious about them then these are the things you must do.

  1. Buy a portable cooler, you must be prepared to eat when you are scheduled to eat or as close to the time as you can.
  2. Eat every 3 to 4 hours
  3. Eat a lean protein source and complex carb with every meal.
  4. Eat only real foods. Hint: no processed food
  5. Drink more water and eliminate all soda and diet sodas.
  6. Get at least 7 hours of sleep

So let’s break this down in a nut shell. You need to eat real food, no processed junk. Eat regularly don’t skip meals. Drink plenty of water and no processed beverages. I threw in a non dietary tip because it is so important, get more sleep.

C’mon, folks! What is complicated about that! We just need to make a decision that we are going to do what it takes to implement these steps. I can’t do it for you, believe me I wish I could.

I can give you some helpful tips, though, that will make this a little bit easier to accomplish. First prepare your food in bulk. I cook my chicken, turkey, fish, potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetables, etc in bulk. They last me up to 4 days in the refrigerator. What I do the night before is break them down into small containers and I’m ready to go in the morning with my cooler. I also carry a one gallon jug in the cooler and carry a water bottle with me. That way I can fill it up whenever I need to. It’s also easier to keep track of my water intake by doing this.

I hear all the time from people who say they don’t have time to eat. I counter with this reasoning by telling them it is because you have not prepared properly. Remember these meals are not very large so it doesn’t take long to eat them. I believe anyone can spare two or three minutes to eat a small meal.

I want all of you to know that you are just one decision away of getting that lean healthy body you want, never give up and it’s yours!! I guarantee it!!
